A PAPER ART FANTASY

Summer exhibition, 15 June - 31 August 2019, Frövifors Paper Mill Museum, Frövi. The exhibition shows 8 fairytale worlds created in paper where my work SOILU is one of them.

Soilu is a Finnish word that means northern lights or polar lights and is used to describe the movement of water on a lake surface. Soilu is also the name of the lake in north eastern Finland where my grandmother grew up.

The work is created from 4,000 strips of white copy paper illuminated with several different shades of colored light to create an effect of aurora borealis and to give the art piece a sence of movement.
